I was scouring the freezer at home and stumbled up I was scouring the freezer at home and stumbled upon a bag of homemade pierogies. A bag (or 3 ) that my MIL passed on to us during the quarantine.  These guys filled with a potato filling were boiled and served with butter and caramelized onion, a lot of onion, and a lot of butter! 🧈+ 🧅

Pictured are lamb shoulder chops (aka arm or blade chops) - they are less expensive and are great grilled, pan-seared, or braised.

In general, lamb pairs nicely with bold spices like rosemary, cumin, and mint.  Also, citrus and fruits like lemons, pomegranates, and apricots add a nice balance.

In this recipe, the lamb shoulder chops are first seasoned with herbes de Provance, and then braised in a delicious sauce of pomegranate molasses and orange juice (and zest), and garnished with fresh mint and pomegranate seeds.

I do a lil happy 💃 every time these spontaneous dinner creations turn out successful.  And if they don’t - no worries- the gang still eats them(most of the time 😂)
